About

FounderSherpa helps founders build businesses that can scale beyond the founder.

We exist for founders who have already built something valuable, but know the next stage cannot depend on personal energy, instinct and founder heroics alone. As the business grows, the role of the founder has to change. FounderSherpa is here to guide that transition.

Why FounderSherpa exists

Every founder eventually faces the same question. Can the business keep growing if every important decision still runs through me?

In the early days, the founder is often the engine of the business. They sell, hire, solve problems, make decisions and carry the load. That is often what gets the company moving.

But as the business grows, the same strengths that created momentum can start to create constraint. The business needs clearer systems, stronger leaders, better decision-making and more resilience. FounderSherpa was created to help founders navigate that shift.

Why this exists now

FounderSherpa is led by Robin Crumby, CEO & Founder of FounderSherpa, and shaped by his experience building, scaling, advising and exiting B2B media, information and membership businesses. He now works as a post-exit founder mentor, helping founders think through the leadership, systems and succession questions that come with growth.

The aim is to offer the kind of practical, founder-to-founder guidance that is often missing between generic start-up advice and formal exit advisory.

FounderSherpa exists for the founder who has already built something valuable, but is now facing a different challenge: how to build leadership, systems and resilience beyond their own day-to-day involvement.

What we believe

We believe the best businesses are not built around founder dependency. They are built around leadership, systems, trust and clear accountability.

We also believe that stepping back is not simply an operational challenge. It is a personal one. For many founders, the business is closely tied to identity, purpose, status and daily structure. Succession and exit are not just strategic events. They are human transitions.

FounderSherpa explores both sides: the practical work of building a business that can scale beyond the founder, and the personal work of preparing for what comes next.

Who we serve

FounderSherpa is built for scaling B2B founders, especially those running companies in media, data, events, information services, memberships, insight businesses, SaaS, agencies and professional services.

Many are growing businesses in the £1m–£10m range, sometimes beyond. They are experienced enough to know there is no simple playbook, but practical enough to want advice they can actually use. They value honesty, useful frameworks, real founder stories and clear thinking from people who understand the path.

What FounderSherpa offers

FounderSherpa brings together monthly writing, founder interviews, practical frameworks, events and conversations around the founder's evolving role. The focus is on helping founders build leadership depth, strengthen systems, delegate with confidence, prepare for succession, think clearly about exit, and create a business that has value beyond their own daily involvement.

Experience behind FounderSherpa

FounderSherpa is for founders who want to build something stronger than a business that depends on them. It is for those who want the company, the team and the founder to keep growing — even when the founder's role begins to change.
